Westboro Laundromat Response to
Covid-19
*Resource from the CDC and Coin Laundry Association
The Westboro Laundromat will remain open as it plays an essential role in allowing you to continue to wash your clothing and bedding. Along with frequent hand washing, the Center for Disease Control said make frequent laundering … a routine.
In addition to the regular cleaning services, we will also be disinfecting any common area "touch points" including disinfecting surfaces, handles of the washers and dryers and carts.
*Please do your part by washing your hands before you touch the knobs — wipe down any you touch. Avoid touching your face after touching any surface.
For those who are concerned about catching the virus, consider waiting in your car or outdoors while your laundry is being washed and dried to reduce exposure and possibly take your laundry home before folding it. If available, use machine furthest away from other customers.
**Please read important guidelines for doing your laundry
Do not shake dirty laundry - This minimizes the possibility of dispersing the virus through the air.
Wash items in accordance with the directions.
Launder items using the warmest appropriate water setting for the items, and dry items completely. Please note that dirty laundry that has been in contact with an infected person can safely be washed with other people’s items. (Per CDC)
The hotter the wash, the better.
Use the right amount of soap Too much soap creates excess suds that enable dirt and grime to remain trapped inside the fabric. The right amount of soap will properly clean and then be rinsed from the clothing.
Use Color safe bleach for colors and regular bleach for whites.
Use the dryer. Viruses hate heat, and drying clothes will further prevent the spread of the disease.
